All the money in the world cannot purchase life
Dear Rich Bitch, What is the most precious thing on earth according to you that all the money in the world can’t buy ? Thanks, Selena
Dear Selena, thanks for that question. Sometimes I get so pre-occupied with this whole money thing that I forget to give my time and attention to anything else. Sometimes we take life for granted. We get wrapped up in things like depression over money when there are people in our lives who would give anything just to hear us laugh or see us smile.
To answer your question, which I thought I would have to think about but it turns out I didn’t, the most precious thing on earth that all the money in the world couldn’t buy is the life of the people I care about starting first and foremost with my son. Money can’t buy life. Life is the most precious thing. It’s so interesting because it’s something we don’t bother to think about. At least, I haven’t bothered, and if you hadn’t asked, I wouldn’t have thought about it and experienced this moment of realizing that yes, there are things that matter a whole lot more than money. And what’s even more interesting is that I actually, for the moment, have these things that I believe to matter more than money. So if these things matter more than money and I have these things already, am I not then more fortunate now than I could ever be with all the money in the world?
Of course this is not to romanticize poverty in any way. That’s a completely different issue. But what has occurred to me as I thought of how best to answer your question, is that money has it’s limits and having money, at least for me, is not more important than the physical safety and the happiness and peace of mind of the people I love.
